John Wick 4 Guns: Inside the Armory [Spoilers Ahead]
Last summer John Wick: Chapter 4 blazed onto the screen with more of the gratuitous violence and kung fu’ing of bad guys that we’ve come to love.
Did you find yourself, like us, sitting in the theatre wondering, “Wait a minute, what gun was that?” How do I get my hands on one of those?
Fear not, 2A-loving movie goer, we’ve got you covered.
In this latest installment of the over-the-top franchise, there’s an assortment of remarkable firearms, including one handgun with a whopping price tag of almost $7,000.
The film showcases a variety of firearms, an arsenal extensive enough to rival a small army, and while its impossible to examine every firearm featured, we can zero in on the main weapons used by the cast and the ones most asked about by viewers.
Grab your popcorn and let’s delve into the high-octane, gunpowder-packed world of guns in John Wick: Chapter 4.
John Wick’s Handguns
In the movie, John primarily uses handguns as his weapon of choice. He occasionally seizes a rifle or shotgun in the heat of battle, but there’s two handguns Wick uses throughout the film on his adventures from Japan to Berlin to France.
Glock 34 TTI Combat Master
Glock 34 TTI Combat Master

- Single Undercut

Glocks are some of the most popular handguns of all time. At the start of the film, John Wick uses the same custom 5th Gen Taran Tactical Combat Master Package Glock 34 MOS FS he used in Chapters 2 and 3.
The Glock 34 has been seen in a number of other films, such as End of Days, Man on Fire, Red 2, Escape Plan, and Gemini Man. It is the long slide Glock 9mm handgun, employing the Glock 17 frame coupled with a 5.31-inch barrel. The extended barrel and slide gives the operator a longer sight radius and the bullets a velocity boost.
Enhancing this model, the TTI package Glock 34 comes with high-visibility sights, a meticulously refined grip texture, and a revamped frame. The slide is treated to a series of intricate cuts that are the rage in modern firearm aesthetics, complemented by a match-grade barrel. It features an integrated magwell designed for swift reloading, a magazine release with scallop cuts, a trimmed-down grip, and an ergonomic undercut. To cap it all, the cherry on top is a cutting-edge Timney trigger.
While Glocks may not always be the prettiest handguns to look at, this Glock 34 stands out on screen.
TTI Pit Viper
TTI JW4 Pit Viper

- Ultimate Ergonomic Beavertail and Safety Fit
- Ambidextrous Blended Safety
- TTI Grip Job
- Built in Bladed Stand-Off (Fangs)
- Includes two 126mm and one 140mm completed magazines (One 126mm with 7mm base pad, One 126mm with 3mm base pad & One 140mm with 7mm base pad)
Limited to just 400 pieces, the Taran Tactical Pit Viper’s rarity is as striking as its design, with an overwhelming demand reflected in its extensive waitlist. Combining top-tier performance with an arresting design, the Pit Viper is an enthralling piece of firearm craftsmanship, and probably the most impressive of the John Wick 4 guns.
The handgun employs a re-engineered 2011 design and boasts fang-like protrusions at the front of the slide, lending it the name ‘Pit Viper’. In a jaw-dropping moment, Wick even dismantles the gun and uses the fangs to eliminate an adversary.
What makes the Pit Viper riveting is its harmony of aesthetics and performance. The firearm exudes a strikingly fierce appearance, making it the ultimate weapon for the film’s relentless protagonist, John Wick.
The Pit Viper comes equipped with an array of features such as a single port compensator, ambidextrous safety, and a fixed front sight that enhances sight tracking. It also includes an Extreme Engineering trigger group and a match-grade barrel, among others.
The Bowery King, another character in the film, sums it up as, “9mm Pit Viper, a 21-round capacity magazine with a built-in compensator for virtually no muzzle flip. Fiber optic front sight, ambidextrous safeties, flared magwell for faster reloads, 2-pound extreme trigger.”
In addition, the Pit Viper is light and deceptively nimble, with the sight-block compensator being one of its standout features. This compensator, attached directly to the barrel, improves accuracy and allows for unprecedented shooting speeds.
The sight-block compensator’s innovation lies in attaching the front sight to the barrel, making it significantly easier to maintain sight tracking during rapid firing. The grip safety is ergonomically designed for comfort, and the Bladed Stand-Off “Fangs” serve as a formidable melee weapon, adding to the firearm’s versatility.

Caine, portrayed brilliantly by Donnie Yen, is a character that stands out in the movie as a blind assassin and a former ally of John. His weapon of choice is notably intriguing, a customized Sig Saeur P365 SAS, which is discernible from the character’s poster. A fascinating aspect of this firearm is the absence of conventional sights, a subtle yet thoughtful detail given Caine’s blindness.
The custom P365 flaunted by Caine is a SAS (SIG Anti Snag) model, evident by the absence of sight cuts, and a glimpse of the rear Bull’s Eye sight in the poster. This particular model is the non-ported variant of the SAS. SIG has meticulously crafted the SAS P365, focusing on reducing any snags by softening the edges and corners, yielding a slick, effortlessly drawable weapon.
What’s interesting is that while the traditional sights are absent, SIG has innovatively introduced an alternative sight system that lies flush with the gun’s rear slide, termed the FT Bullseye sight. Moreover, the controls have been modified to align flush with the frame, making it arguably the most anti-snag automatic weapon to date.
Caine’s choice of weapon seems deliberate, as the missing conventional sights solidify his characterization. The firearm is equipped with a 15-round magazine and seems to feature a Mass Driver by Strike Industries. Notably, the Mass Driver is typically available only for Glocks, so this suggests that a custom adaptation was made specifically for the movie.

Scott Adkins donned a 100 pound fat suit to play the role of Killa, the asthmatic German leader of the Table, who despite his imposing size and significant weight, surprisingly manages to hold his own against John Wick with some impressively agile moves.
Being a formidable character, Killa’s choice of firearm is fittingly the gargantuan Smith and Wesson 500.
Killa wields the 4-inch version of the Smith and Wesson 500, complete with a ported barrel and a gleaming stainless steel finish. It’s a behemoth of a weapon perfectly suited to his colossal frame. Intriguingly, there’s a moment when Killa and John find themselves in a tense standoff which they choose to resolve through a card game.
The S&W 500 is notorious for being an over-the-top revolver. Smith and Wesson’s goal was to engineer the most potent production handgun cartridge, and they achieved this feat.
The ammunition fired by this revolver is monstrous; the projectiles are half an inch in size, weighing between 300 to 670 grains, and travel at speeds ranging from 2,075 to 1,200 feet per second, generating an energy of up to 2,868 foot-pounds. To accommodate this formidable cartridge, Smith & Wesson had to develop the X Frame.
While the S&W 500 is primarily designed for hunting or potentially for defense against bears, it’s not particularly suited for combat due to its massive recoil and consequent slow firing rate. Nonetheless, the weapon’s intimidating presence aligns well with Killa’s character.
In a twist, Killa never gets to fire the weapon, but instead, he engages in an unexpected and thrilling martial arts duel with Wick, which proves to be both startling and riveting.
The Tracker – Mr. Nobody’s Lever Gun
The Tracker’s Custom Marlin 1984
- A classic take on the level action rifle.
- The package is small and powerful with the classic lever gun look.
- Barrel Cut and the Mad Pig Thumper muzzle brake pinned and welded for a 16.5” OAL.
- OEM Wood Handguard and Stock.
- XS sight rail.
- Skinner Sights Bear Buster front sight.
One of the John Wick 4 guns we are introduced to come from a new, enigmatic character known only as Tracker, or as he prefers to refer to himself, Mr. Nobody. Accompanied by his canine companion, Mr. Nobody is seen tracking Wick across the globe for ambiguous reasons. His weapon of choice: a custom Marlin Model 1894, 44 mag, uniquely modified and primed for tactical use, underscoring his All-American image.
Originating from 1894, the Marlin lever-action rifle has sustained its relevance over the years, boasting a diverse array of chambering options from common calibers like .45 Colt to the more obscure .218 Bee. The rifle is recognized for its robust top design and convenient side-loading gate for rapid ammunition replenishment – features Mr. Nobody is frequently seen utilizing.
There’s a certain appeal to the modernized lever-action rifles, and the Marlin 1894 is no exception. The rifle gained popularity in the frosty territories of North West America and Canada, where extreme cold could cripple top-loading lever guns. The reliable Marlin 1894 became indispensable for hunters, prospectors, and trackers – making it aptly suited for Mr. Nobody’s mission to pursue the formidable John Wick.
This customized version of the Marlin 1894 is fitted with a host of enhancements, including an extended M-LOK handguard, XS ghost ring sights, a SilencerCo ASR muzzle device, and a SilencerCo Octane suppressor. Additional rounds are conveniently attached to the firearm for immediate access during high-intensity situations. Stored in his backpack until required, Mr. Nobody wields this formidable weapon with notable proficiency. Credit for this uniquely modified gun goes to Mad Pig Customs, known for creating takedown versions of Marlins – something not offered as a factory option.

By far, the gun that stands out the most in the film is the fiery shotgun that seems to spew flames, the TTI Dracarys Gen-12. Several baddies meet their demise at the hands of this gun, and it is awesome!
Truth be told, most of the flair is due to the ammunition used, rather than the gun itself, but nonetheless, let’s take a look.
In the adrenaline-pumping sequence, the audience is treated to an inventive and stunningly choreographed action sequence as Wick unleashes havoc on the adversaries with this ferocious Dracarys Gen-12 shotgun. It’s outfitted with some BCM furniture and a KeyMod handguard.
Remarkably similar to an AR, this shotgun is the brainchild of a relatively obscure company named Genesis 12. Specifically, it’s the Gen 12 model, which draws its inspiration from the AR-10 and employs a short recoil operational system.
The result is a nimble, high-velocity, and dependable semi-automatic shotgun with a magazine-fed mechanism, deeply rooted in the AR-10 lineage. Being a smaller company, Genesis must be thrilled to see their creation gain exposure on the big screen.
These firearms were also customized by Taran Tactical for the movie. They are called Dracarys Gen 12s and boast an array of impressive features, including Magpul stocks and grips, keymod rails, Eotech sights, and 10-round magazines. This particular variant is a short-barreled shotgun equipped with a 10.5-inch barrel, crowned with a breaching muzzle device.

While the dragon’s breath ammunition may not be as formidable in reality as depicted in the film, it certainly makes for thrilling cinema. There’s skepticism regarding whether the ammunition could effectively cycle a semi-automatic shotgun due to its typically lightweight nature. You can pick some up here and try it for yourself. Nonetheless, this captivating shotgun joins the ranks of an assortment of impressive shotguns featured throughout the film series.
The Dueling Pistols
Spoiler alert.
Thompson Center Arms Encore Pro Hunter
- Custom nickel plated or silver-cast 44 Magnum cartridges
- Available in a couple of different calibers
As the movie reaches its climax, Wick is forced to duel with Caine, followed by a confrontation with the Marquis. This duel is an agreed-upon affair, albeit forcibly, and the weapon of choice is none other than pistols. However, rather than opting for the modern Pit Vipers or Glock 34s, the filmmakers went with old school dueling pistols.
Andrew Jackson would be proud.
For this duel, the filmmakers crafted a pair of custom Thompson Center Arms Encore Pistols. These firearms are break-open, single-shot pistols, known for their versatility in accommodating a plethora of calibers. They are usually outfitted with adjustable sights or scopes and are enjoyed by handgun hunters in pistol and rifle calibers.
Additionally, the filmmakers opted to go with what appears to be brass bead sights instead of the standard sights. They swapped the polymer elements for wooden components and opted for shortened barrels. The pistols are further embellished with exquisite scrollwork and an elegant custom finish, truly reminiscent of the opulent dueling pistols of the past. We’re unsure of the caliber, though its potentially a .44, .45 Colt, or .45-70.

The last firearm to stand out to us in the film comes from the beginning of the movie in the Osaka Continental Hotel. The High Table enforcers are heavily armed with suppressed Spike’s Tactical Compressor carbines fitted with red dot sights and flashlights.
The High Table’s enforcers engage John Wick in the hotel before he attacks Koji’s men, eventually getting one into his hands, before Caine eventually finds it and picks it up. He takes several shots at Wick in the scene, but is unable to hit him.
The Billet ST Compressor features a free-float quad rail, angled fore grip, QD sling mount, Magpul MOE Grip, and Magpul CTR Stock With Extended Butt Pad. It’s a very impressive rifle, and one of our favorites from the movie.

Final Thoughts
We love the John Wick movies. It’s refreshing to see a return to the time when action movies were about nothing more than just blowing away an endless hoard of baddies.
While many of the guns in the film were custom made, and carry a price tag north of $2k+, nonetheless, they are still super interesting to see and check out.
